What the verdicts mean
| Verdict | What it means |
|---|---|
| Good to go | Same plug, compatible voltage. Nothing to buy. |
| Plug adapter needed | Voltage is fine. You just need the right plug shape. No converter needed. |
| Voltage converter needed | Your device runs on one voltage that doesn't match your destination. |
| Adapter + voltage converter needed | The voltage doesn't match and the plug shape is different. |
| Do not plug this in | This heats up and runs on a single voltage — it would overheat. Get a dual-voltage travel version instead. |
| Check your device label first | One line on your device decides the answer. Here's where to find it. |
| Not enough information | Tell us your destination for an exact verdict. |
Why voltage matters more than the plug
A plug adapter only changes the shape of your plug. It does not change the voltage. A 120V-only device on a 230V outlet can overheat or catch fire — which is why we check your device's voltage, not just the socket.
