Travel adapter for Spain
Use a plug adapter only after confirming that your actual input rating covers the local voltage and frequency. Match your real plug and preserve any required grounding. An adapter does not change voltage.

Must have
- Explicit Type F/C socket support, not just a vague "worldwide" claim.
- Grounded pass-through if your device has a three-prong or earthed plug.
- A clear amp/watt rating printed on the product page or packaging.
Check before buying
- Spain is listed at 230V, but your device label still decides whether a converter is needed.
- Confirm the adapter does not block neighboring outlets if you need to charge several devices.
- For USB-C models, confirm the port wattage is listed per port, not just as a shared total.
Skip
- Adapters that imply they convert voltage. A plug adapter never changes voltage.
- No-name adapters with no fuse, no rating, or reviews mentioning heat under load.
- A single-country adapter that omits one of Spain's listed socket types: Type F/C.
Do you need a USB-C or GaN charger?
A plug adapter makes your charger fit the wall. A USB-C or GaN charger also needs to match your device’s charging requirements.
If you already have a USB-C wall charger
Use a plug adapter only after confirming that your actual input rating covers the local voltage and frequency. Match your real plug and preserve any required grounding. An adapter does not change voltage.
If you want one GaN charger for the trip
Check AC input, USB-C protocol, cable and per-port output. Read the shared output limit when several ports are used.
If the adapter has USB ports built in
Treat the AC plug adapter and USB charger as two checks: socket fit, then the USB-C wattage printed for each port.
Do you also need a voltage converter?
Compatibility is unconfirmed. Read the exact INPUT voltage range and frequency on your device or power supply, and compare them with the destination. The whole local range must be covered; 110–220V does not include 100V or 230–240V. Confirm the actual plug, grounding and manufacturer restrictions. Do not plug in while these details are unknown. High-power heating appliances need a correctly rated supply and model-specific instructions. A plug adapter does not fix an electrical mismatch. PlugVoltage conservatively recommends a locally suitable appliance when compatibility is uncertain; a converter estimate is not approval. Follow any manufacturer prohibition on converters and any manual voltage-selector instructions.
What to avoid
- Adapters with no grounding option if your device has a three-prong plug.
- Buying a converter before checking your device’s full input label and manufacturer restrictions.

A passive plug adapter changes the connection, not the mains voltage. Check the device nameplate. Answer paragraphs 1–2. Manufacturer guidance for its adapters; this does not approve a voltage converter for a particular appliance.

Two-pole and three-pole appliance support differs between adapter families. Choosing by appliance type: MUV versus three-pole adapters. A universal marketing label does not establish earth continuity. Check the exact adapter, appliance plug and socket.

AC current limits and USB output are separate. In the AC20PD examples a single USB-C port reaches about 20W; simultaneous USB-A + USB-C use shares 15W. PDF page 1, English technical ratings and safety instructions. These figures apply to the named series. The manual prohibits stacking adapters and multiplug sockets; other models require their own manual.

FAQ
What adapter do I need for Spain?
Spain uses Type F/C sockets, so you need a Type F/C plug adapter (or a universal adapter that includes it).
Do I also need a voltage converter in Spain?
Use directly only if your actual input rating covers the local voltage and frequency and your plug fits with any required grounding. A typical category profile does not confirm your own unit. Use a local-voltage model for mismatched high-power heating appliances.
Is Spain 230V or 110V?
Spain runs 230V / 50Hz.
Guidance only — not professional electrical advice. Always confirm against your device's label before plugging in. Local wiring (especially in hotels and older buildings) can vary.
